The Artist's Details..
The McCray truck was drawn on paper first, then recreated using SignLab.
The reason for this was I wanted to use paint mask to keep the overspray down
to a minimum. Everything was painted with One Shot lettering enamels. It is
actually not very big on the truck, size is only about 16-18" across. I do
not know if you can get the full effect from the photo on the web site, there
is a lot of detail put into the lettering. The customer wanted a really old
fashioned looking job, I think he got it.
As far as the web site, I am sure we drove poor Dan Antonelli crazy. After
our initial meeting, we thought it would make his life a lot easier if we
designed and emailed our layouts to him for the web site. We built things
close to scale, so he was able to work right off our design with minimal
alterations. We felt very strongly that the design of our web site should
reflect the type of work and look we do at Lines & Letters. We also wanted
our site to be different from the usual format. And I think we accomplished
that. Dan was able to 3 dimensionalize our designs and did so in his usual
great way. We broke down the different categories and provided Dan with
files for all the copy. We produce a wide variety of work at our shop and
tried to select a broad spectrum of photos to display in our site.
Our color scheme for the site may be a bit bold, but we really wanted to make a
statement. With our files and direction of what we wanted, Dan then put
everything together with great results. It was a pleasure to work together
on this project with Dan, Karin and myself, to pull all our talents together.
Dan has much knowledge and talent in this field, and we were very confident
that the end results were going to surpass our expectations, and they did.
Thanks again
