Mike Meyer Traditional Sign Painter Windows

This window project was done in one week's time by one of Australia's top Sign Man....
Mr. John Jordan.
John asked me way back in August of 1999
if I'd mind if he came to my shop and worked for 3 weeks.
I said SURE!
We had a GREAT time!

John is 71 years young, and he shows no signs of slowing down.
It was an honor to jump in on the windows when I could.
But I cannot take any boot lickin fur this job...
it was all the little Aussie!

I came up with the design and made patterns, while John rifled thru my Gold Leaf box.
After being scolded for not having the right stuff,
it's over to the phone and $500.00 later, the "Right Stuff" was on it's way.

We cleaned and cleaned the windows, then cleaned em some more.

Briefly how John did it was amazing, he knows lots of tips and tricks. I did outline here and there,
and I did lay some leaf, but nothing compared to the master. 4 kinds of Gold were used...23 18 16 and
varigated leaf. Then we used Silver Leaf as well (which was "Heavier" and required a smaller tip to apply.)

I got to hold the mirror for the marbling and then he also "Stippled" in the green Valances above. I had 7 er 8
glass pieces from Letterhead Meets gone by and by god if he didn't finish them all up for me too!
I am in great debt to Mr. Jordan and he has invited me to work at, what is now handed over to his
son Paul, Jordan Signs in Sydney Australia some day! I'll miss the snow and hockey but what the
heck.....they probably got some "yeah Babies" running on the beaches eh?
