cool stuff guys and gals!
below is a description of this project by Kathy Durham
of Weber Hill Signs.
Thanks Kathy
"We ran into Steve at dinner one night in
Bloomington In. last year and talked to him about doing a project with him
if he decided to host another meet. We were really pleased and honored to
have him call one day and say, ok you gotta board. Its 30' long. WOW. I dont
know if I felt excitement or dread at that moment. Thats a huge project at
first thought, we don't do a lot of murals, plus our first at a meet!! I knew
some names that would be there and felt weak in the knees, but, I have so
much faith in Tom and his talents, and his easy, no problem attitude kept me
from chickening out. Anyway, we really started to plan it out to the inch,
and felt like we would learn more and share more if we could let anyone and
everyone have a hand in developing it. It seemed like the letterhead spirit.
So with limited plans and 5 projectors we headed to Kenlake. so many helped.
Nancy Bennett, Steve Shortreed, Alan Johnson, Bill and Janice Masters,Steve
Estes, and many new people who came up and painted names on the guitar etc.
We really had a great time, it was one of those you dont forget. The boat
ride was super, meal great, and lots of " good friend" catch up time. The
title was "Reflections on Kenlake" and we felt this went along with Deja Vu
and looking back on some of the headliners from past Blues Festivals. So
there it is, thanks for having the sign of the month thang, I'm looking
forward seeing future signs there.
